The suit was great, superman was handsome of course, but i give it a 5 out of 10. Would much rather watch the older version compared to this one.

Awful. Not fanboy, "Waaahhh, it's not Christopher Reeve" awful. Objectively awful.

This movie invents multiple plot devices that need massive exposition to be comprehensible, then gives s us no particular reason to care about them. Seriously, we have to remind ourselves why super-entities are fighting every few minutes, and even then we don't particularly care. When it's not needlessly complex, it's bland, and at no point does it resemble "fun." I walked out an hour and a half in, when it became apparent that the remainder of the movie would continue to get louder and stupider-- and I'm not at all curious about how it ended, because there were no identifiable story arcs to resolve. I went in prepared to be very forgiving and positively disposed toward this movie-- it took an awful lot to turn me against it so robustly. It's pretty to look at-- populated by mostly pretty people, and eye-popping visuals. If decontextualized action and eye candy are your thing, God bless ya.

Man of Steel

One of the best action movies I've ever seen. Appreciate the fact that it follows the comic book line and the cast was excellent. Amy Adams was excellent as Lois Lane and I really like the fact that they decided not to play her as a helpless victim and gave her a more pro-active role. You couldn't ask for a better Superman and the villains were perfect.

Special Effects Ad Nauseum

Henry makes a handsome, intense, believable Superman. He's a fine actor. It's just too bad that the writers didn't give him a deep enough story to dive into. The special effects dominated this movie to the point of exhaustion. Too many windows shattering. Too many buildings exploding. The "climax" seemed to go on eternally. And was this movie just a big ad for the U.S. military? Amy Adams delivers a good performance, as usual. Russell Crowe was good. I wish the producers would have used the effects to support a really powerful story more rather than trying so hard to be sensational and showing off what they can do with computers now. Sorry, guys. Close, but no cigar.

A Worthy New Beginning for Superman!

This is the Superman we've been waiting for! Man of Steel takes the spirit of the legendary mythos and updates it, holding onto the foundations but offering a slightly darker and more serious tale that grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. Kudos for perfect casting! I loved all the actors, Amy Adams as perfect as Lois, and Henry Cavill IS Superman, just... wow. The film was beautifully shot, with an amazing and luscious score by Hans Zimmer that was probably one if his best ever, and he's damn good. The visceral, spectacular battles and all-out destruction in the movie were gut-wrenchingly good, and kind of shocking (parents be warned). I personally wanted the movie to be even longer, with even more of the excellent character moments and story (more Smallville/less epic end of the world insane) but I'm not complaining, only saying I wanted more, MORE! No spoilers here, but you won't be wasting your money, go see this movie!! Can't wait for Man of Steel 2!
