Man of Steel isn't the masterpiece the trailers promised. It suffers from mediocre screenwriting, poor directing, and an obvious heavy editing hand to pare down the run time. This is a 3 hour movie butchered into 2.3 hours.
Henry Cavill is more than a pretty face. His acting is top notch. Amy Adams does a decent job but comes off as Pam from The Office.
While the story isn't perfect, it is bolstered by a great score, great visuals (although some look like they were made in the 70's), and the most amazing fight action ever seen on the big screen! It's Dragonball Z meets Marvel v Capcom and is nothing short of incredible!
I saw this movie twice. It's better the 2nd time around. The plot holes seemed even bigger, but the story was easier to follow. I'd also recommend seeing in IMAX 3D. The experience was notably better than regular 3D.
There are no scenes during or after the credits

Man of Steel is how a reboot of a movie should be done. It gives the fans exactly what they want, one helleva roller coaster ride. The little tweaks in the storyline gives the movie a new fresh angle and doesn't make you feel that you are just watch repeat of the older movie with new actors. The pace of the movie is perfect. Remember that these so called 'professional' critics (people who don't have real jobs) are just giving their personal opinion of the movie, just like I am, so don't listen to anyone, go and judge for yourself. Buckle up, hold on to your seat and enjoy the ride !

This movie was great. When I saw that the director of the Dark Knight series Chris Nolan, I had a feeling this was going to be great. He seems to open up the story of origin about these comic characters like nobody else. If this crew who did this movie works on the any future man of steel movies I'm sure they'll will be great. Go see this movie if your a fan of comic book movies.

I have been a Superman fan since I was a kid. I could not wait to see this movie and I was not disappointed. The new twists to the mythology that this version offers make it work and Henry Cavill does a really good job. I was skeptical of using a British actor to play such an American icon but he sold me. Director Zack Snyder tells his story in a way that kept me guessing on a few things and revealed them at just the right time.
If you are a fan, you will have to see it. If you just have a passing interest, keep an open mind. I think you will come away having seen an awesome action movie with a story line that is begging for the next chapter. Don't take the little kids though. It's a bit too intense in places.

I was happy to see that this was NOT the campy Christopher Reeves version where Lois Lane is basically an idiot. This is a much smarter Superman, and I liked the development of his youth. Henry Cavill is a joy to watch, by far the best looking Superman!
