The Family

Because of the plot, I couldn't help thinking about My Blue Heaven with Steve Martin, which was so funny and so good. Perhaps that's why I was disappointed in The Family. It was ok, DeNiro is always good. Michelle Pfeiffer looked old and tired. There were some entertaining moments...for instance, I Loved the scene where the daughter took a tennis racket to a smart-aleck and the way DeNiro solved his plumbing problem!

Brilliant directing, very funny, the screenplay very well written makes for a gThreat thrill ride. The cast beyond suburb makes for a great family comedy, it kept my attention all the way through, a must see movie, but don't take my word for it, see it for yourselves.

I liked the movie....slow start but then it got into it....actually think it could've used a bit more meat in the middle but the end definitely kicked in with the potatoes. Good movie.

Not a very strong plot line, writing and dialogue was weak and there were many parts that were simply unrealistic regarding the Dept. of Justice's Witness Protection program. (In addition, Tommy Lee Jones is much too old to play an 'active' FBI agent.) Disappointing movie.

Graphic but gaudy

Robert De Niro and the cast don't disappoint, but the film as a whole is a strain to the senses. So much so, there is hardly any entertainment value in it at all. The action was quick and left no impact, the comedy was far and few between scenes, the writing was stale and it was as if this movie has been done before; which it has been. Luc Besson gets an A for effort but a D in overall execution.
