Robert De Niro and the cast don't disappoint, but the film as a whole is a strain to the senses. So much so, there is hardly any entertainment value in it at all. The action was quick and left no impact, the comedy was far and few between scenes, the writing was stale and it was as if this movie has been done before; which it has been. Luc Besson gets an A for effort but a D in overall execution.

Went with my husband for a date night and we both had a good time, comedy and even a little action. Liked the story and combination of actors, would recommend it.

Because of the plot, I couldn't help thinking about My Blue Heaven with Steve Martin, which was so funny and so good. Perhaps that's why I was disappointed in The Family. It was ok, DeNiro is always good. Michelle Pfeiffer looked old and tired. There were some entertaining moments...for instance, I Loved the scene where the daughter took a tennis racket to a smart-aleck and the way DeNiro solved his plumbing problem!

Great movie, dark and humor with an awesome list of characters. These are the premo actors playing this film of the industry. Great acting and seeing into their souls through their eyes. Awesome film.

Loved The Family. DeNiro is perfect for the role. Michelle Pfieffer was a delight! The kids also played their roles above and beyond. Tommy Lee Jones was his typically curmudgeonly self. Great writing. The finale is worth waiting for. Go see it. Not alot of movies like this being made. Adult comedy that makes you think and laugh.
