Make sure You DON'T MISS this movie!!
If you liked The Ice Storm by Ang Lee, then this suburban 70s coming to age story will really entise you. I was sad when it was over because the cast was an awesome character study of that controversal era that needs to be recreated more often (in my opinion). Alec Baldwin and the whole cast nailed this sleeper movie that I hope gets more lymelight.
Don't hessitate and see this before it is too late.

Blown out of my seat
I went to this movie because Star Trek was sold out. For that I am thankful. This movie had me not only laughing my rear end off, it was always tense. And intense. A study of how overindulgence and infidelity can ruin a society and how it effects society's children. A very tricky subject matter to find hilarious, but the movie strikes a surgical balance between great drama and hilarious comedy. It really works as an unconventional coming of age story at its heart with two you ones falling in love which is juxtaposed against their parent's relationships falling apart. The cast is stellar with performances that are oscar worthy. The direction and writing is expertly executed. And the ending? I won't give it away, but it is bold and wholly unpredictable. I will be adding this to my dvd collection but urge anyone to see it while it is on screens as the wide angle lenses capture the weeping beauty of picturesque suburbia.

Great acting in a depressing story
You have to be in the mood for a story of dysfunctional parents and the havoc they inflict on their kids. Rory Culkin is exceptional amongst a fine cast of actors. I wouldn't be surprised if an Oscar nomination or two is given to the actors. There are some laughs but don't go in expecting anything like a comedy. Movie would lose nothing on the small screen so my advice would be to wait and rent it on DVD.
