This is one of my favorite movies because it has great acting and i love the whole idea of just being two strangers that have never met and then become good friends and finally become romaticaly entangled. I also love the setting, in Japan, I thought that made the story line very unique and original, I'd give this movie four stars. Bill Murray did a great job with some comedy as well.

Masterpiece of Cinematography

Billy Murray, what else can you say about this guy? Stuck alone in a hotel room between photo shoots, not wanting to be there in the first place, he spends his time in the hotel bar where he meets Charlette (Scarlett Johanssan.) who's basically in the same situation. The two cross paths several times, each time becoming more and more friendly with one another leading to the point where you wonder "Is there something more to their friendship." They spend a couple of beautiful nights out on the town in their short time together. The Cinematography in all the shots is nothing short of brilliant. The film makes you believe they meet on the last 2-3 days of Bill Murray's trip, so there is not time for anything serious to develop. Plot flaw or ingenious scripwriting? I think it's the latter. Sadly, just when you think they may become serious, "Bob Harris" leaves, but not before seeing Charlette on the streets and whispering something inaudible into her ear. Is it really over?
