After the war from the German perspective

This film is really worth seeing: It gives a perspective of World War II from the German children and teens indoctrinated by the Third Reich after Germany has fallen. It is beautifully shot and the plot twists are breathtaking. Also, as they are running for their lives throughout the German countryside, there is never a dull moment, even as the main character inwardly struggles to process this new reality.

Very long and boring

I saw this movie based on the critic reviews. I love foreign films because they are out of the ordinary. Lore is a sad story that isn't put together well. The story plods along, with much angst. There seems to be no amount of joy at all in the story, and it is all so pointless.

This reminds me of Anne Frank. The thing that stands out is the pain of growing up - the shock of realizing that your parents were protecting you from certain facts of life - in fact, what bleeping world have I been dropped into? Certainly makes you think and something you should see, but not easy to watch. Even the Americans make you nervous. This is an Australian/German production. Mostly in German with English subtitles.
