Disappointed

I chased this movie for 3 weeks. It finally came to a somewhat local theater (cinemark in Palo Alto). Drove down with a friend ... excited to see it ... started watching, and 30 minutes in I fell asleep. Yeah, I did ... the story line was all over the place. I woke up with 30 minutes remaining. By the end I conclude it should have been titled "Lola Trippin". It's a no go. My friend said "No wonder it wasn't in theaters!"

Has a Woody Allen Feel

I guess I was expecting it to be funnier or unique, but it was your same-o, same-o run of the mill indie flick of girl gets dumped and tries to figure out herself and life simultaneously while ending up in bed with the ex's best friend. Basically, totally predictable and pretty much a forgetable movie -- like Woody Allen's flops. However, it's only two redeeming factors are: great local shots of New York (Woody Allen) and Greta is a good actress.

Thoroughly enjoyed this film and Greta Gerwig's endearing performance, reminiscent of a young and clueless Alicia Silverstone (in a good way). A fun story that takes place in the best city of all, NYC, about the delicacies of human interactions and relationship. Lola's journey is filled with ups and downs like the rest of ours!

LOVED THE FILM! The characters seem real, ordinary, and down to earth. Seem like people you may know. Make real mistakes. No one is perfect; everyone has their own spin on things. Very funny & touching. The acting is wonderful
