I loved it
Heartbreaking portrait of two girls and their friendship falling apart. Juno Temple is AMAZING at playing the frustrating Lily, and Kay Panabaker is great as her best friend trying to steer her onto the right path. The director, an ex gang member, was at the screening I saw and talked about how the soul of the film is autobiographical but he made it about two 15 year old girls, instead of about he and his best friend, to not glamorize the violence. Made me like it even more. The performances are outstanding, Kyle Gallner, Carlos Pena (from Big TIme Rush, what?) Leslie Mann is great and Kate Bosworth in a small role is the best I've ever seen her. The cinematography is also top notch, every shot looked like a gorgeous photograph or painting. I really loved this film.
