    leaves you wanting more

i get the artsy fartsyness of the movie, i do, i really do BUT sometimes being so artsy can work against you. in this case this movie leaves you wanting more then what you get. the camera angles, the grittyness, the storyline all work, the character development and angst all work it's is just the end that did not for me. if i wanted to guess what happens i'd read a choose your own adventure book.

    Not a Feel Good Movie

Spoiler alerts**. I hate writing this because I love these actors. But don't go to this film if you are looking to feel uplifted by the story of a young couple whose love survives all obstacles. The problem is that you stop rooting for the lovers because they stop rooting for themselves. I do not fault the actors. They all give realistic and honest performances. At the outset you want to root for the couple because they do seem truly in love--soulmates. But after a visa problem keeps them separated, they become emotionally separated by life, work and other love interests. Even marriage to each other does not resolve their problems. And they each enter into extra-martial affairs when work forces them to live on separate continents again. Other love interests are hurt and cast aside and Anna leaves a great job to finally join her husband. But sadly by the time they are together they are so emotionally beaten you leave the theater certain that their love will not last.

Great Movie - not for everyone, though

I saw this movie with my three daughters. I and the older two liked it. The younger one (15) didn't like it. There is not a lot of action or dialogue in this move. It is all about the emotions between the two main characters that is shown via the filiming. This movie definately deserves awards for the cinemetography and editing! Very interesting movie. It is more cerebral than most mass release films and will not appreal to those who want to have entertainment shoved down their throat. Instead of "wathcing" this move, you sort of "absorb" it. Th

You're "Like Crazy" If You Spend Money To See This.......

Credit where it's due, the young talent here does a fine job of trying to make something of the biggest nothing of a screenplay since "Benchwarmers," a very bad and forgettable comedy. If you're one of those who panned the romance "Emma" last year, then boy oh boy are you going to hate this film even more, not that "Like Crazy" is even remotely as good. It's slow...VERY slowww***.....So much so, you'd be well advised to see it in daytime, thereby having a much more difficult chance of falling asleep. Skip this one and take your nap at home for free. You'll be glad you did.

Don't know what all the hype is about

I went to this movie because of all the buzz it's been getting, and my best friend saw it at Sundance and it was one of her favorites. I was totally disappointed. It's so slow and disjointed, and I failed to ever see the "crazy love" the couple was suppose to have. Like other fan reviews, both characters quickly get involved in other relationships (serious ones, at that), which makes you question how deep and crazy their love for each other really was. I hated the ending. Also, as other reviews said, the man in front of me walked out, and I was almost tempted to the same, but I was hoping and waiting for it to take off, and live up to all the hype. Unfortunatley, it never did, and I feel "Like Stupid" for watching it.

I love this movie LIKE CRAZY!

    by bgabela

Was lucky enough to go to a pre-screening of this film... it was amazing! A low-budget indie romance/drama and a very realistic look into a long distance relationship. The best part of the film was definitely the fantastic acting... both Anton and Felicity delivered great performances, and that alone is worth seeing. but reminder... this is NOT a romantic comedy! so don't go in the theatre expecting one.

    Awful Ending

Spoiler alert: A great love story between two young college students. The two: Anna and Jacob, meet at college in LA. Anna is a student from England in the US on a student visa. Their on screen love story is so true, raw, and honest that you forget you?re actually watching a movie. The two actors are phenomenal in portraying two people who are so utterly and undeniably in love. When her visa runs out Anna and Jacob spend the entire movie trying to be together. And when they?re finally able to be together it seems that their love cannot sustain all the hardships and distance they endured throughout the years. You spend the entire movie rooting for the two of these characters, only to have an ending that is completely AWFUL and discouraging. You find yourself not realizing how invested you were in the movie until the ending. It seemed their love for each other would endure and could endure anything, but that was just not the case. Kudos to the director for creating an unpredictable ending

Incredibly realistic and that may be the problem

    by dcp87

Honestly, I think that what I'm disappointed with in this movie ends up being how it was sold to me as a love story. Yes, at the foundation of it all, you have two people in love but that's about it. It's more about what you have to sacrifice and compromise on to be with someone you love and that's not a rosy picture. But it's incredibly real where nothing is black and white where all the decisions you make effect other people and have consequences. Love the actors. Anton Yelchin has never disappointed me, Felicity Jones I haven't seen in much but I think she's completely believable. Huge Jennifer Lawrence fan after Winter's Bone and she doesn't disappoint even though only in the movie for a little while. All in all, good movie, just not what I had expected.

    Incredibly Realistic

    by apinkjo

It was a great movie, super realistic. I felt like every scene could have happened to anyone. It was very relatable, very raw and powerful. Bittersweet.

    Amazing!

    by

I knew Like Crazy was going to be beautiful when I first saw the trailer, and I was right. I love the way it was filmed and the acting was great! It will make you laugh and cry and wish you were in love again. Go and see it! It's a movie that I could watch a million time and never get sick of it.

    Natural Collision

It seems the elements of fate and curiosity, in a short time yielded deep affection, and a heart heavy bond between these two kids. An awsome love-really-that flourished and branched its roots all around them. The world, quickly passing by was of no concern. How can it be when you're in love? But destiny collided with nature, transplanting them, but not love, and caused them to grow apart. If love blossoms while you're together, it may alter if nature is disturbed.
Felicity Jones is a british flower, gilded by the fine elegance of her charming nature.

    Ouch.

What a twisted m.f.ing whirlwind. This movie takes your myocardial fibers and stretches them violently in all directions for the entire duration of the film. It transcends all language, age, and gender barriers and rips them all to pieces until all you have is raw, unadulterated love story that just hits you square in the jaw. Anyone in a long distance relationship has to see this. Ouch.

    Missing Passion, Desire, Need

    by

I was so excited about this film. It has the main elements that make a movie great. But it's missing the excitment and passion that lives in a relationship such as this. The film is too much in between a romantic blockbuster and an indie flick. It's neither.

Emotions aren't dramatized here, which is the main thing that was missing for me.

The story is beautiful, but the pull into the i love you/i can't live without you relationship is completely missing.

    Horrible and sooooo sloooow!!!

I would hinestly say that this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I was so excited to see this movie, so I took a friend with me, Just watching the first fifteen minutes, you could tell that the movie was going to be extremely boring, in which it was. It was almost like a docuentary with lots and lots of staring and hardly any dialogue. My friend fell asleep and the only reason I even stayed for the rest of the movie was to see what would happen, which we never find out and I realize that I had wasted fifteen dollars and two jours of my life. Don't go, even if you like these kind of movies unless you want to pay to take a nap!!!!!

Do not mess up with your relationship with the ppl you really care about

    by

Great Director I shall say. Very romantic way to tell story. Like the way he/she uses the camera.

But I do not like the characters in the film. They are so easy to give up. If they want to be together, they need to have more faith and loyalty.

Marriage is not a game. Can they cut off first then get back to other ppl? BTW, their new gf and bf are awesome. But they do not know how to appreicate what they are having. instead, they are obessed with the old memory. PPl will grow up and change. They are in love only with the one in their mind., in the past. It is a sad moive, showing the weak side of human beings.

What we learned from the film?
    1. Do not violate your visa
    2. Do not get married because of other reasons.
