It wasn't very good in my opinion. It worked sort of like a documentary. I think it's aimed at people more religious than me... 'Cause, I think, the polt was based around seeing the workings of God. Anyways, I found it rather boring, but the 3D effects were crisp and the scenes were beautiful (the only good point I found). I could see it being a great photobook, but the movie was much too slow and it wasn't very interesting to me. I don't recommend this to any children; I'm sure they will be as easily bored as I was, but older adults may find it more interesting. I don't know.
P.S. the commercials make it look way cooler than it is. They basically show the only action parts, and they aren't as exciting in the movie because of the slow build up. I was very disappointed...

Visually stunning. Slow. Not realizing it was a hallucinatory allegory the early scenes in the lifeboat were much more violent than I expected. A movie that I wished aftrerwards that I had not seen.

This movie was wonderful. The effects and photography were wonderful. The acting was terrific too - the story was very faithful to the book. Loved it! Must see!!

This movie was wonderful. The 3D made it seem like you were there with Pi in the life boat. The deeper meaning of the movie would be lost on children and some parts were too intense for my 7 year old Granddaughter. She and the 10 yo both loved it though. I enjoyed it thoroughly and am planning to read the book.

We loved the movie, thought about taking our grandkids (6 and 8), glad we did not, due to some intense and pretty scary scenes. Recommend for the spiritually inclined!
