Fresh, enthralling with more than just a hind of eastern mystersism this film is everything you thought it might be and then some. Visually it is a cornucopia of illusion and fantasy. Escapism at it's ultimate while displaying the indomitable complexities and contradictions contained in the human spirit. It is rare these days to find a film so far removed from the grinding formulated mediocrity typically turned out by tinsel-town these days.

this is a movie not to be missed. The effects are breath taking, but more important, the story comes to life, especially in 3D.The actors, animals, storms all make for an exciting film.

Cinematrographically gorgeous, philosophically and theologically provocative, this movie will keep the thoughtful person engaged, on several levels, long after he/she has left the theater. Aside from being an enjoyable experience, the movie raises questions about the ultimate value of a thoroughly rational approach to dealing with life's vicissitudes (hence, I think, the titular reference to the mathematical constant, pi). Definitely two hours and five minutes well spent.

A very artsy type of movie that's traliers only show 1/2 of the movie. The 3-D is some of the best of the year with the right amount of depth and effects to make the extra money. The story is Pi and his family in the first half of the 2 hour movie and should be watched just to see how director Ang Lee made the supposed unflimable novel. Actors are good, but not worth oscar nominations. Bottom Line: Watch the film to see a good oscar nominee, but don't bring any child under 11 though because some of the scenes are very graphic, like when a hyena eats a zebra and a tiger eats a goat.

Great adaptation of a fabulous book, entertaining and satisfying for audiences of all ages. Top quality performances, including the animal cast, that transport the viewer to a world of magical realism. The story and the beautiful production makes us wonder about reality vs fantasy, the meaning of life and the power of the human spirit to survive, having a lasting and profound impact. We and our grand kids and us could not stop talking about it!
