this is a movie not to be missed. The effects are breath taking, but more important, the story comes to life, especially in 3D.The actors, animals, storms all make for an exciting film.

Irrational number

Cinematrographically gorgeous, philosophically and theologically provocative, this movie will keep the thoughtful person engaged, on several levels, long after he/she has left the theater. Aside from being an enjoyable experience, the movie raises questions about the ultimate value of a thoroughly rational approach to dealing with life's vicissitudes (hence, I think, the titular reference to the mathematical constant, pi). Definitely two hours and five minutes well spent.

The most beautiful cinematography I've seen in my life, an amazing tale of faith, love,an courage. You must watch in 3D to fully capture the awesomness of this film!

Having not read the book previously I had no idea about the story except what I had seen on the trailers at the theater. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie but was concerned about the younger members of the audience sitting around me. They were squirming and not involved. I would not suggest it to anyone with children under 10. Some of the scenes are too graphic for that age group and some of the movie is not intriguing enough for that younger children. It is a very long movie, especially if you watch the credits all the way through. Wow, that was a great deal of people who worked on the movie.

This is the kind of a story that probably wouldn't have been able to be effectively made into a movie 10 years ago...but these days, anything is possible... Fascinating story, and a visually stunning job of telling it. The tiger deserves an award.
