Yes, there are a lot of messages in this film.....if you can pick up on that type of thing. 'Richard Parker', the computer generated tiger is definitely 'alive' in the film. The other graphics are well done.
The story drags and I kept wondering how much longer would the film continue. Glad when it ended. Not sure if kids under 12 (?) would enjoy it.

The movie was both visually stunning and had a fresh plot. I truly enjoyed this movie. I saw this in the RPX format, but had problems with the theater itself. The screen was very slightly out of focus and the "wonderful 7 million watt" sound system was silent on the left side of the theater.
But the movie itself is a must see.

Went expecting the usual animal-human relationship and the least to say, the movie had nothing usual in it. A wonderful story line and an amazing journey. Never felt the full force of 3D magic in any recent movies except this one.
A must watch.. Stunning visuals, the unusual story and exemplary acting makes it a movie to remember..
It might be a tad bit violent at a place or two for a small kid who goes expecting to see only happy friendly animals. Just that the movie shows animals as animals. :)

Fresh, enthralling with more than just a hind of eastern mystersism this film is everything you thought it might be and then some. Visually it is a cornucopia of illusion and fantasy. Escapism at it's ultimate while displaying the indomitable complexities and contradictions contained in the human spirit. It is rare these days to find a film so far removed from the grinding formulated mediocrity typically turned out by tinsel-town these days.

This was a truly magical tale, beautifully shot by Ang Lee, who uses 3D in a way that does not detract from the film, but enhances it and makes you feel as if you are in the film. The story is touching, heartbreaking, funny, and brutal. I definitely recommend it.
