This was a great movie. I did not see the original move, but now I want to. It had a great story, and everything just fell into place. If you have kids that are into Twilight, you need them to see this movie. This way they can see what a real vampire move looks like. This is a must see move. One of the best I have seen this year.

This movie was intelligently done.
The casting was perfect.
The acting was superbly melancholic and chilling.
Even after some of the most viscous moments in the film there is still a tenderness there.
A decent amount of gore is of course necessary and present in the film but not too over the top. I've definitely seen worse.
No plot holes, no grandiose action sequences that serve no purpose, and no excessive uses of CGI, SFX, or slow motion(resident evil).
People who didn't like it will probably complain that it wasn't fast paced enough, or that there weren't enough special effects, or there weren't enough shirtless teenage werewolves. Sadly those people are probably too stupid to appreciate any movie that doesn't come with a ridiculous budget, over hyped director, or credited cast of marginally talented people.
Don't listen to them, don't even listen to me, go see this movie and make up your own mind.

I found the film to be quite meloncholy and sad. She(it) is sucking the life out of people in more ways than one. For the ones she has chosen as caretakers especially. They devote their whole lives to her(its) upkeep. And for what? So that they can die miserably, lonely and alone without having truly lived. At least for themselves or the dreams they might have had. How incredibly selfish. Of course she(it) is only driven by one thing...survival at all costs.Whatever form that my take. I found the film to be haunting and depressing beyond belief after the final frame. If you are looking for a film to help you wallow in whatever it is that you want to be wallowing in...this is your film. One bright spot was of course the ever talented Richard Jenkins. He took a "very" small role and made you see deep into his tortured soul in the few frames he was in.
