Loved, loved, loved this movie. I was impressed by both Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway. They did the play justice. Russell Crowe came up short, but met the minimal requirements. The scenery was amazing and Eddie Redmayne as Marius was fabulous to say the least as well as Amanda Seyfried as Cossette. It was well worth the price and I hope to purchase the DVD for my collection when it is released.

I'm a bit obsessed with the musical, it was one that I grew up listening to. I know every word and I know every change. At first I was very worried about the film adaptation, but having seen it three times now, I can honestly say that this is a triumph.
There are definitely things that I can shake my head at, but they are so tiny and insignificant. It takes a minute to get used to the sound of live singing, and it's definitely not the best sung version of the score, but it is still heartbreaking and emotionally pleasing.
I cried just as much during the film as I do when I see the show and I can't wait until the film comes out on blu-ray to own it. This is definitely not for everyone, but I think it really gets it right and definitely is a start to a new way to film musicals.

If you only go just to see Anne Hathaway's stunning performance it will be worth it!!!! There are some things I wish they did differently since I am a Broadway snob but it was a truly incredible performance!

GREAT - Even better the second time around .. ..
The IMAX presentation (and SOUND) made it even better this time .. ..
Spent so much time comparing it to the musical the first time, there wasn't enough time to really enjoy it .. ..
But, sure enjoyed it in IMAX though!!!

Last time I cried this much was at "The Champ". Captured the essence of the book and the characters. Astounding feat. I was locked on the screen every moment. I loved the casting top to bottom.
