This will go down as a brilliant transfer from stage to screen. All the stars were amAzing. The scenery was outstanding. It made you laugh and cry and then again. The fact that the stars were Singing during the filming truly made the movie unique. Jackman and Hathaway were mesmerizing. Crowe was a bore but when isn't he. I think this will sweep the oscars!!

I found this adaption of this great broadway play to be well acted. The problem is the movie is two long. Anyone who saw the broadway play will be disappointed by the singing, this is in part because it's an Operetta . Hugh Jackman did a very good job as Valjean. Russell Crow sing was poor at best. His voice was not up to the task of Javert. Ann Hathaway did a good acting job and an acceptable singing job. Both Samantha Bark and Eddie Redayne were excellent.
