French director Leo Joannon made numerous competently made mainstream films during the '30s, '40s and '50s. Before breaking into films during the mid '20s as a cameraman, Joannon studied law and was a writer of short stories, novels, and articles about films. In 1951 he directed the farewell feature of Laurel and Hardy, Atoll K (Utopia in the US). It was considered the duo's worst film. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
