This movie holds up extremely well, the cinematography, script, acting, it is all superb. The new digital restoration is wonderful, amazing, and a joy to behold.

Wow. Wow. Wow. In a certain sense I just saw Lawrence of Arabia for the first time tonight. While I’ve seen it in a theater before (twice I think), that print did not compare to this new digital restoration. It looked like it might have been shot just this year, not 50 years ago.
The crystal clear picture doesn’t just make the cinematography shine brighter though. The acting also really benefits, not that the performances weren’t amazing before. Now every twitch or flick of the eyes is there to add even more depth.
A few shots were clearly taken from lower quality negatives and some audio looping done for the reconstruction in ‘88 really stood out (in a way I don’t remember noticing before). Overall though this new restoration truly presents it the way it should be seen. If it makes it back into theaters again, go

Viewing this epic movie on the big screen after being digitally remastered was a most amazing experience. A movie of this magnitude was meant to be seen on the big screen. The actors give compelling perfomances. The cinematography, directing and the musical score were breathtaking! I look forward to when my grandchildren are old enough to watch this movie and hope that we will get the opportunity again to see it on the big screen. Thanks TCM and your partners for all that you do.

I first saw this movie in the 60s shortly after it came out. To see it again, almost 50 years later - beautifully restored, was amazing. Stunning visual imagery - fantastic soundtrack - award winning acting - fabulous directing. One of the best movies ever!

I first saw Lawrence of Arabia in Apr. '63 when I was a girl. Of course I fell in love with Peter O'Toole and the film itself. All-time favorite; I've loved it since then.
The 50th Anniversary Event last night - Blu-Ray, 4K remastered - is beautiful. On the large screen again. One of the (few) truly great classics of all time; and the beauty of what Sony/Blu-Ray/4K has done is just remarkable in every way. Since the 1988-'89 restoration was magical I couldn't even imagine that this would be - yes - beyond magical.
The film is so clear, so lovely that - no matter how many times I have seen it - it is like seeing it better & greater than ever before. Nothing compares with it & never will.
The clarity & beauty of Mr. Lean's iconic masterpiece; the beauty of a great actor in his destined, iconic role has truly brought so much joy to a woman with such happy, personal memories of years ago.
Thank you very much.
