David Lean's panoramic production of P.E. Lwrence has triggered my need to read more on the man and on his historical impact durling the last days of the Ottoman Empire....

I was just a baby when "Lawrence of Arabia" first came out. But even so, I love old movies. I had never actually seen the movie from start to finish. When it has been on TV in the past. I always seemed to pick it up in the middle, and had to leave before the movie was over. When the email came about this event, I jumped on it, and took dear old Dad with me. He didn't remember a lot of the movie from 50 years ago, but was awed just the same as I was. Had to put up with a few technical difficulties, but it was worth it. In a nutshell, it was AWESOME!!! TV does not do this movie justice. It has to be seen on the big screen to be fully appreciated. The sweeping desert scenes, and the epic battles were beautifully mastered to be realistically portrayed. T. E. Lawrence was an extraordinary man who did extraordinary things, to die so simply. Not to diminish Gregory Peck's performance in the "To Kill A Mockingbird", but Peter O'Toole should have won the Best Actor Oscar that year.

The movie was AMAZING! I was a first time viewer of this film (don't know why) but was entranced the whole time. The restoration truly made you feel like you were there. The scenes were magnificent and the acting, well what can I say. Truly some of the greatest actors ever. Would highly recommend! Great job! Look forward to purchasing this when it comes out in November for my home collection.

SOME MOVIES ARE MEANT TO BE SEEN ON THE BIG SCREEN, AT LEAST ONCE. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA IS ONE OF THOSE MOVIES. THE DIGITAL ENHANCEMENT WAS TERRIFIC BUT THE REAL THRILL WAS SEEING THE GRANDNESS OF THE LOCATION FILMING ITSELF. TO THINK THAT THIS WAS FILMED ON LOCATION WITH ACTUAL PEOPLE IS MIND BOGGLING. BUT MOST IMPRESSIVE WAS THE FACT THAT PETER O'TOOLE'S ACTING WOULD BE CONSIDER EXTRAORDINARY FOR A SEASONED ACTOR BUT WHEN YOU CONSIDER IT WAS HIS FIRST MAJOR SCREEN ROLE IT IS MIND BLOWING PERFORMANCE. OVERALL, THIS FILM HOLDS UP BEAUTIFULLY AND IS A FILM EVERYONE SHOULD SEE AT LEAST ONCE AND IF POSSIBLE, ON THE BIG SCREEN!

My first Fathom Event. The print and sound were so pristine it took my breath away. My theater was quite crowded. This was a once in a lifetime chance to see the movie the way it was meant to be seen and heard. I don't care how big your TV set is, you can never duplicate the feeling in a theater full of appreciative enthusiasts. Now if they would only do the same kind of restoration with SPARTACUS, it would bring peace to the world as we know it.
