Wait for this one on DVD. A great cast carries this over-rated film. Those expecting a bloody portrayal of the mafia gang war during prohibition will be sorely disappointed. Instead viewers witness a slow developing love story in the midst of a family run backwoods bootlegging operation battling local law enforcement for profits. Not a bad movie, but worth the wait for a rental.

Sleeper

I thought this movie was actually really good! I went in with a negative attitude but it was good! The story line was great and the actors of the film delivered. This movie gets an A in my book!

Very Good Movie!

I really enjoyed this movie. It was pretty bloody so maybe not for the queezy, but it was well worth the price of admission! I enjoyed seeing some new actors I hadn't seen before and loved it even more knowing it was based on a true story. Go see it!

Refreshingly different.

I must say that I was a little apprehensive about seeing this movie, but I'm very happy that I did now. This was the first movie in a very long time that I felt invented truly NEW characters. I was able to complete the entire life story of the brothers, in the short 2 hour film. The older brother Forrest was the most powerful character in the film, but you will be surprised at how little he had to say most of the time. A very well put together movie. I truly enjoyed something different for a change. Not the run of a meal shoot em up western. Lots of bite to this move and characters you can relate to.

I loved the movie. The characters were great Tom hardy and labuff were great as usual. I will definitely be buying this when it come out

This movie started fast and kept you engaged for the entire ride. There were some great performances in this movie. All-in-all a terrific way to spend 2 hours.

Lawless unexpected excellence !

This movie was one of the best I've seen this year! The cast all did such an amazing job. Had I not taken a chance and gone to see this movie, I truly would have missed a great " true story"..... Loved it.

Lawless is truly an Oscar contender!

I was not aware of this true story but I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Everything about the movie was spot on. The direction, the actors, the beat of the film and they the story unfolded just spectacular. Tom Hardy's acting was superb and he should be up for a best actor nod.

Don't wait for the video see it on the big screen. Oh yeah did I fail to mention the love stories in the film.
