Lawless (2012)

This movie was pretty violent, gritty and kept you on the edge of your seat. We really enjoyed it. Enjoyed might not quite be the right word, perhaps enthralled or riveted would be better words to describe how we felt. Some scenes were really horrendous. We found Jack's character a bit annoying because he kept getting everyone around him in trouble by not thinking things through clearly. The cinematography was wonderful and the acting was excellent. It was definitely worth going to but be prepared for violence.

Lawless is a great movies with a lot of action. My husband and I really loved the movie. The good guys were full of action and true to their character even if they were bootlggers. It show how the law and government was so crooked at that time (even now ). The movie was very exciting. We loved it. It is not for kids only over 16.

Academy Award Material for almost all the stars. This movie was great and it was a true story, which I like. After this movie I definetly want to learn more about these guys, and the 30's do seem like an interesting time. I loved the plot and the scenery of West Virgina was beautiful, despite the violence that took place but that's what was what the plot was about and it was never too gory, they showed enough to make it real. I would nominate Shia Lebeauf as Best Actor and Tom Hardy and Guy Pierce for Best Supporting Actor. This is for people who the read the book, and the people who want to see a good drama and action fans, but take my word for it, see it for yourselves.

One of the best films I've seen this year. Incredible acting, superb casting and directing. The intense mood grabbed me right from the start. Guy Pearce and Tom Hardy were both gripping in their roles. Plan to see it again tonight!

Shia blew me away!

Shia Labeouf continues to suprise me, his performance is what we go to the movies for. Shia takes his character from a boy living in his brothers shadows to a man standing for whats right and defending his own. Tom Hardy is the strong silent type in this film, mainly does his thing with looks and grunts with sobering violence. That was my favorite thing about the film, the violence is so realistic and unsettling but it makes the movie so much more gritty which is perfect. The cast is right where they should be, i couldnt picture anyone else in their roles and the accent, being from the south myself was finally right for a change not to strong or over the top. Go see it and live along side these brothers for and hour and a half and you'll forget your even watching a movie and just lose yourself in this world.
