Music, singing and presentation were very good. The story line was very weak and a little boring.

Outstanding performance by Hvorostovsky - Germont. So-so by the rest.

Great singing but the minimalist set design can be at times claustrophobic when only the two principals singers remain on the stage!

Absolutely wonderful. So pleased to finally have opera in Greenville, NC. Dessay's acting and singing are extraordinary. Polenzani is a treat. The new setting helps accentuate the tragedy. afr

La Traviata

At first I was uncertain at the contemporary staging but after a few minutes it seemed just right. Perhaps period costumes might have taken away from the music. The cast was perfect, every note was perfect. I believe even a person who did not like opera would have enjoyed this performance. I rate it a five star production.
