For fans of art and fashion

I'd been waiting to see this film for some time and I wasn't disappointed. I love art, museums, etc. so I enjoyed seeing the homes of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge as they were rather museum like.

The film is a documentary style and rather slow at times. It's not earth shattering by any means, but if you are curious about the art collection of Saint Laurent and Berge and/or want to see archival footage, I would recommend it.

Revealing, poignant and a feast for the eyes

Whether a lover of fashion, art or a well-executed documentary, filmgoers of all will find this an engaging peek into the complex psyche of Yves Saint Laurent and his rarefied world as well as a study of the 50-year relationship with his partner Pierre Berge.

    A Feast for the Eyes

I've been comparing this documentary to the recent piece about Valentino, which was a similar story but more fun. The sadness of Pierre Bergé permeated everything, though the clothes and his and fabulous art collection were stupendously beautiful, I left the theatre depressed.

The documentary is fascinating as a museum piece with Berge serving as docent.
