Nicoletta Dossena (Mariella Lotti) is married to an engineer, Luigi Barbano (Roldano Lupi), but when she attends a concert, she encounters her former lover Bruno Traldi (Leonardo Cortese). He is now a successful pianist and their romance is rekindled after a decade apart from each other. Barbano learns of their renewed affair and leaves his wife in despair. She then gives herself fully to Bruno, but after a while his growing career consumes more and more of his attention. Eventually, Nicoletta leaves him so he can pursue his music -- but in fear that Barbano will never forgive her and take her back again, the distraught woman commits suicide. ~ Nicole Gagne, Rovi
