La Casa de Los Cuervos (The House of the Crows) was adapted from the best-selling 1916 novel by Hugo Wast (a pseudonym for Dr. Gustavo Zuviria). Set during the abortive Argentine revolution of 1877, the storyline is dominated by rebel captain Luis Aidas. While fighting for the rights of his countrymen, the hero is forced to kill the brother of Elsa O'Connor, a young woman who had earlier offered him shelter. Despite an abundance of emotional baggage, Aidas and O'Connor fall in love, but their happiness is blighted by Amelia Bence, the spiteful fiancee of the dead brother. Realizing that his fate lies elsewhere, Aidas bids adieu to O'Connor and marches back to the battlefield -- and certain death. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
