Beautifully executed documentary! As a consumate New Yorker for over 30 years, I was so touch by the content and information in the film that important for the history books. Ed Koch was truly a one of kind and loved this city... May he rest in peace and know that we will always be looking ofr his feedback and opinion!

The seminal events of the 1970's and early '80s are told from one man's perspective, but what a perspective it is. He was perhaps one of NYC's greatest mayors.

Great movie. Everyone who lives in NY should definitely see, and even those who don't. There is a lot to learn from this NYC icon about politics and life.

You don't have to have been in the Koch Admoinistration or a nerdy student of politics to enjoy this movie, it's definitely entertaining and provdes a broad "slice of life" glimpse of New York City and its politics. Drawback is that in the objectives of turning this movie in under 2 hours (and even under 1 hr/45 mins), and ensuring the subject's loyalty to the movie, the issues are painted with little nuance or detail. Some further coverage of the complexity of the dynamics behind the various topics addressed (real estate development, AIDS, racial tensions) would have made the movie a more valueable and accurate depiction of NYC life in the 70's and 80's.
