    Hilarious!

    by jmag420

One of the funniest movies to come out in a few years! It was funnier than 40 year old virgin and very close to being as funny as Wedding Crashers. If you liked either of those movies this is a must see movie!

Are there any good movies anymore?

There are a few laughs, but overall this movie is pretty unimpressive. It is disjointed and wandering, and most of the humor is fairly juvenile. If you do not go in expecting much and stoner/slacker/drug humor is really funny to you, you might enjoy this movie.

    Mindless, moronic comedy...

Hot, young, gorgeous, media professional falls for fat, hairy, stupid, bong-toking, unemployed loser. Uh, ok. If you get past that ridiculous scenario, then you get to enjoy endless shots of smoking pot, 'shrooming, more smoking pot, fart jokes, smoking pot, partially naked hairy fat guy, partially naked hairy fat guy smoking pot, and an imploding marriage. Oh, and you get to see said naked hairy fat guy having sex quite a few times as well- all the women in the theater I attended let out a disgusted "eewww" every time. Can't say I blamed them. Anyway, this is not a feel-good movie. It's more of a "our society is really going into the crapper" movie. If anything, you feel kinda gross afterwards. Then again, if you know someone who's a wake-and-bake, unemployed, fat waste of DNA- this is their triumph on film. Definitely NOT for anyone under 18. If you want some fun, gross-out type comedy, rent "Kingpins" or "Dodgeball" instead- at least there's a semi-uplifting message there.

Too bad this "comedy" isnt funny. It would have helped.

Since when does watching people walk through unbelievably uncomfortable situation after uncomfortable situation constitute funny? I felt like I was watching a teen age health education film on pregnancy. For straight people only.

If you like to laugh, you have to go see this movie. It was way better than I expected. Although it was funny, it had its serious moments. I would definitely recommend this movie.

Am I The Reawakened Ice Man?

I understood the premise of the movie. Do nothing guy has the night of his life with a hot chick that was too loaded to judge correctly. She's pregnant and wants the guy to be in her life. I expected a Pygmalion approach. WRONG!!! Instead I am wondering if I live in this world or at least the one the director painted. Is this the new record for the f word? And everybody used it. Even the rather cultured sister. They used in nice restaurants. I'm sorry I am in nice restauratns a lot and this is not the language. The guy was more than low. If she saw sweetness, she is Pollyana. I felt embarassed sitting next to my wife having exposed her to this trash. Yet, this show gets high marks. But no one mentions the level of raunchiness of the movie. Please let me go back to my world of yesterday, if this is truly a depiction of life in the early 21st century. Or maybe ,we can say no to this garbage. This story could still be told. And still be funny!!!

    Another Hit For Apatow

    by

This movie lived up to every expectation I had, even better than Pirates. Anyways, if you loved 40 Year Old Virgin, Accepted, Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared or hell, even How I Met Your Mother, you will enjoy this movie. All I can say is it made me an even bigger fan of Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen. Go see it, you wont be disappointment

    VERY FUNNY!

OMG.... I kept wondering to myself, "Can Everyone Hear How Loud I'm Laughing" . Seriously, there some parts that were a little too real but other than that, it was hilarious. I would diff. go see it again if friends wanted to. With alot of crappy humor out right now, this was a good break from that. Something you can really laugh about, KNOCKED UP, hah!!!!!

The first really good movie I have seen in theaters in many years

This movie is actually good. That was my first thought about the movie, about 15 minutes in. All of the critical acclaim made me skeptical (because I sledom agree with critics about comedies). I did not think that _40 Year Old Virgin_ was funny at all. That's why the quality of this movie took me completely by surprise. It is not only good. It is amazing. This movie is funny, sweet, exciting, touching, and disgusting. It has everything, from stupid jokes that bring out the inner child in you to incredibly clever jokes that intellectually impress you. I love this movie so much that I am still recalling the jokes and laughing. Everyone who enjoys to laugh and is not easily offended must see this movie.

    Don't go

My husband and I saw this movie and did not like it at all. I agree with the review from Bob when he asks other readers not to believe previous reviews about how good the movie is. I thought it was funny at times but not many and the language was appalling. It was F this and F that the entire movie and the drug scenes were not necessary. The trailer completely portrays this movie one way and the actually movie is so not like the trailer. I would not recommend it to anyone, in fact I have told others not to go.

Get a sitter for the kids and go see this movie!

A must see for every fan of "40-year-old Virgin." There are way too many funny lines in this movie to repeat. I only thought there was one way to get pink eye. Felt sorry for every guy in the theater during the crowning scene. HIlarious!

    Are you serious?

I can't believe that most people enjoyed this movie. If I wasn't with a friend, I would have walked out. First of all, the "hook-up" was completely unbelievable. The language was horrible and profanity was highly over used. The men were absolute low-life, perverted pigs. Apparantly that's supposed to be funny. I can't even believe that Katherine Heigl lowered herself to be in this movie. That's 2 hours and 12 minutes of my life I'll never get back. I wish there was a money back guarantee. What a waste of time and money.

Surprisingly thoughtful as well as funny

Now, I don't mean to scare off people looking for a summer comedy, because all the laughs are here too, but there's much more to Knocked Up than you'd expect from the plot summary. Most comedies are about as good as their previews, stitched together by filler; in Judd Apatow's movies you get the impression that he has so many ideas and put so much time into developing them that he simply couldn't afford a throwaway scene. Absence of padding is what makes good novels, and it's what makes good movies. It actually helps the comedy that the characters have dimension, and we never get the sense that he's patronizing us with archetypes (even though the inclusion of Seth Rogen's stoner/slacker friends have that potential, they're never used cheaply). So: go see it. There's a real need for more funny movies like this, where the plot isn't driven by the existence of "bad guys"; this is the proof that you don't have to lose your sense of humor to have ambitious goals for your work.
