Excellent adaptation of the book of the same which was considered pretty racy for the time period. Terrific perfomance by Robert Cummings as a young idealistic doctor who comes back to his hometown of Kings Row after his best friend ( Ronald Reagan in absolutely his finest hour ) is horribly damaged in a railroad accident. He also discovers how horribly damaged the small town has become. Some gorgoeus production values heightens this nearly epic, melodramatic period piece that truly dispels any myths about "the good old days"...
