I thought that Brad Pitt was good, but the character didn't have much depth other than him being a hit man who followed politics. The start of the movie was about as slow as I have ever seen and I almost walked out. Overall, it wasn't that great. I like James Gandolfini, but the relationship between the two hit men was not very believeable. I expected a better movie considering the actors involved, but honestly the promo for "Django" before the movie started was better than the entire "Killing them Softly" movie

What happened to Hollywood writers? Where they unavailable for this? This was the most uninteresting mobster/heist movie I've ever seen. Great actors. Great cinematography. But what about story? What about clever dialog? Not here folks.
The writing was lame. Just boring rambling in a wannabe Tarantino sort of way. Nothing new, clever or funny in the "black comedy" this was supposed to be. Pitt was good as usual as was the rest of the cast but the script was not worth the effort.
Some interesting visuals. That's about it.

The most HORRIBLE movie I have ever seen! I go to the movies at least once a week and sat through many "dogs" but this was by far the worst movie ever! I walked out and demanded my money back...which I got. I was the 6th person to walk out!!!!! Save yourself don't see it. And BTW Brad Pitt for the first hour he had maybe 10 mins of air time. What a waste!

This movie killed me, but not softly. It drug from beginning to the end. This is the first movie I really did not like any part of.
I started to leave half way through. Didn't but should have.
I went because I like a number of the actors in it. That wasn't enough.

This movie was trying to be too much. It was like Mamet vs Tarantino vs Kevin Smith, and they all were on Qualuudes. Just tried to be a little too deep, a little too violent, a little too ironic. And it missed on all of them.
