In 1981, Kennedy joined forces with her husband Frank Marshall and cinema wunderkind Steven Spielberg to form Amblin Entertainment. The company has profitably specialized in fantasy and adventure: ET (1982), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Back to the Future (1985), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Jurassic Park (1993). Kennedy has also served as co-producer of Spielberg's "serious" endeavors The Color Purple (1984), Empire of the Sun (1987), and the Oscar-winning Schindler's List (1993).
