The story still holds up even 20 years later.....3 D pretty good except for all the butts in face. Still scary at times even though I knew the story.

Better than ever

Most people have already seen the 2D version so the movie is nothing new. The 3D conversion was very good considering the movie is 20 years old. The 3D effects aren't as intense as modern movies, but I think that's better, especially for people that aren't big fans of 3D in the first place. Bottom line: Don't pass up the opportunity to see this fantastic movie while it's back in theaters.

Take your kids if they are old enough. I enjoyed watching this movie in the theatre just like I did when I was 11. It was really cool to watch in RPX 3D. I mostly wanted to go to watch my kids jump and scream, and they did not let me down. As soon as the T-Rex broke through the fence and roared my younger son looked at me and said I want to go home, but he was content afterwards and took his glasses off during the scary parts. It was really fun to watch an older movie on the big screen, and really funny to see all the really out of date technology that ran the park. I heard before I saw it that the graphics were outdated and it showed in 3D, but I have to disagree. I have seen much worse come out in the last 3 or 4 years. I hope that they are waiting to see how well this re-release does to test the water for a new installment. With the best quality cgi of today it could have great potential, unless they have a weak story, plot, and script like #3.

2 scores - JP Vets & JP Virgins I saw JP3D since my 5 yr old daughter wanted to go. I HATE 3D movies, more of a nuisance than a plus. I don't see the trade off of wearing glasses and being forced to focus on certain areas of tje screen. I will say that for someone that hates 3D, this movie seemed to mesh well and actually enhanced parts of the movie. 1. JP1 Vets - I would give the experience a 7.5/10. While the movie is a 9.5, even with the added 3D I just can't give it anything higher. However I would LOVE to see old movies like JP than most the modern kids crap they put out. 2. JP Virgins - 9.75 - I give this version a 9.75 instead of the originals 9.5 because the 3D release is obvious for those that were too young when it 1st came out. This makes the 3D a perfect addition. My daughter LOVED the movie (as I did when I was a kid & saw it in the theater) I have never seen her more into a movie. After proclaimed BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!

I was pleasantly suprised with the 3D conversion since the original movie wasn't filmed in 3D. Obviously it won't compare to Avatar but it wasn't like a lot of the converted films where the 3D only goes back into the screen. There were several places where things came into the theater and had me wondering how they did it. If you're a fan of the orignal movie then it's well worth going to see it again on the big screen.
