I was really excited to finally be able to go to this movie as I did not see it when it came out. My girls (14,12 & 9) also saw the preview and were excited as well. I was very disappointed at how slow moving (boring) it was until the hunt began. (Dinosaurs hunting people) That is when it became very predicable. That along with body parts flying around made it somewhat inappropriate for the kids. I was tempted to give it a so-so rating just because of the Dinosaurs but I couldn't justify it. (they are only actually on screen for 6 minutes the entire movie and I don't think its worth it to sit through the other 2 hours.

Most people have already seen the 2D version so the movie is nothing new. The 3D conversion was very good considering the movie is 20 years old. The 3D effects aren't as intense as modern movies, but I think that's better, especially for people that aren't big fans of 3D in the first place. Bottom line: Don't pass up the opportunity to see this fantastic movie while it's back in theaters.

Take your kids if they are old enough. I enjoyed watching this movie in the theatre just like I did when I was 11. It was really cool to watch in RPX 3D. I mostly wanted to go to watch my kids jump and scream, and they did not let me down. As soon as the T-Rex broke through the fence and roared my younger son looked at me and said I want to go home, but he was content afterwards and took his glasses off during the scary parts. It was really fun to watch an older movie on the big screen, and really funny to see all the really out of date technology that ran the park. I heard before I saw it that the graphics were outdated and it showed in 3D, but I have to disagree. I have seen much worse come out in the last 3 or 4 years. I hope that they are waiting to see how well this re-release does to test the water for a new installment. With the best quality cgi of today it could have great potential, unless they have a weak story, plot, and script like #3.

JP definitely holds up 20 years later, except (spoiler alert) for the Deux Rex Machina ending, which was a little disappointing after such a carefully crafted plot.

Enjoyable and exciting re-capture of a great film production with the latest technology. Do not cheat yourselves, make sure you're viewing at an IMAX theatre and not RPX
