So not worth the attention.
This way just ok to me not really bad just ok. Another thing I didn't like was the acting it didn't seem realistic at all. Especially by Jennifer Garner she was just weird in this. By definitely didn't deserve a Oscar nomination yet half the movies they nominate don't desevre a nomination. They always nominate the same kind of movies over and over again and the same mediocre actors. Honestly the only movies I liked that they nominated were American Beauty and Chicago. That's way I watch the MTV Movie Awards which is entertaining and funny.
Gosh .this movie is sweet, funny and heartfelt. Who would have known that a movie about a teen pregnancy can have all of that? I?m not sure if it?s a realistic scenario, because of how understanding everyone was about Juno?s situation, but I liked the concept of minimal expected, pregnancy drama. I watched it in the theaters when it first came out, and I watch it every time it comes out on cable.
Totally winning original screenplay by Diablo Cody ( who subsequently copped an Oscar for her first-time effort) is an utterly involving comedy/drama about a spunky young 16 year old (adroitly played by Ellen Page) who finds herself pregnant and turns to a young couple (Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman) when she is looking to give up her child for adoption. Endlessly hip and funny dialogue that really cuts to the core of all the characters, including the suppotive parents (winningly played by J.K. Simmons and Allison Janney) and the adorably geeky father (the always watchable Michael Cera). The movie asserts its pro-choice agenda quite firmly in the beginning and never wavers but ultimately love finds a true place amidst the complexities of teen pregnancy and all the adult deceisions one is forced to make. Remarkable film in this era of slap-dash adolescent comedies. A real winner!
The character handles the news of being pregnant, the search for adoptive parents, and the physical demands of being pregnant with startling emotional detachment. Some great humor highlights this. We see this begin to change towards the very end of the movie, and this is where we begin to understand how difficult, on many levels, it must be to be a pregnant teen. I loved how the character did what she thought was right and stayed true to herself throughout the experience. The social stigma attached to being pregnant as a teen leads many teens to make a different choice. I am not "pro-life" but I really loved how the character stuck it out, and made dreams come true for one adoptive mother.
