A Warm, Kid-Friendly Film With Lots of Heart.

You shouldn?t expect too much from this movie going in but you'll definitely find it worth seeing. Even given today's generation of overly stimulated kids, this movie won't elicit rasberries and groans from the younger teens and as for the littler kids, it's right up their alley. Lots of visual stimulation and fun characters brought to life by players like Dwayne Johnson and Michael Caine, bring excitement and just a little mystery to the mix. This movie's no blockbuster but instead delivers that old fashioned kind of family movie fun. The kind that relies on visuals, suggestions and a little tale to capture the audience's imagination. See it with your kids or send them on their own. You're safe doing either one and definitely won't be disappointing them or yourself in doing so.

    About What I Expected

I primarily went because a close friend wanted to see this movie. I had fairly low expectations going in. It ended up about what I expected, but to be fair there were some things worth noting.
--The animation that accompanied the screenplay was actually well done.
--The story line was reasonably interesting & was consistent throughout the movie.
--The actors & actresses did a very decent job.

It is primarily a movie for the younger folks (pre-teen). Overall, I rather enjoyed it, so if you like this type of movie, it may be worth your while to go see it.

    Clean family adventure

This movie was very worthy of good clean family viewers. Love the Rock and his strong character values. No foul language and positive relationship bonding. I also loved the special effects. Just a couple scenes that were on the " rough and tumble " side..but all was in part of protection not conflict. May be alittle scary for the age of five and under due to the massive size creatures- unless they have already been exposed to this element of special effects due to having older siblings such as it was with my children.
Action, humor, positive relationship building, treasure seeking, clean family movie! Way to go Rock! ! This will definitely be another movie of his that will be added to our DVD collection when released!

    Journey 2

We loved it. The Rock was great and Michael Caine was wonderful. I loved the backdrop and wished I could replicate in my bedroom...love the giant bees and the technology used. My son enjoyed it too, and so did the response from the others in the Theater..

    Mom of tween

This is definitely not a "critics" movie. You cannot expect too much. It is far fetched, but it is pretty good. It is hard to find films that are appropriate for my 11 year old. Either they are too "childish" or toooo PG-13+++++. We really had fun watching this move. Good family fun!!!

    Wanted to see it

    by D-ron

Wasn't able to see it... I purchased tickets on Fandango and showed up to the theater Amc Universal City wityh my excited daughter for Fathe /daughter movie night but when entering theater found out the projector in that theater wasn't working. The AMC Universal City theaters are horrible Their projectors are always breaking down and their customer service is terrible.... (this is not the first time I had a bad experience @ Universal My advice is to steer clear of AMC Universal City theaters... I only went because of the close proximityto my home but I will drive farther away to other theaters to avoid the terrrible service you get at Universal

I will definitely go see the movie at another theater....

    Surprisingly Good.

Went in to this movie not expecting much, but came out laughing and having really enjoyed it. Saw it in 3D and didn't feel ripped off. The Rock is excellent, but the real great acting was done by Luis Guzman. Take the kids and enjoy the "Pec Pop of Love".

    Not the wort movie ever...

But certainly not the best. The sory is vey thin and it has so many holes that not even Swiss cheese could illustrate them.
On the other hand, it has a likeable cast that does their best to deliver some bad lines and they work well together.
The movie moves quickly and the action is enjoyable enough to allow you to sit through it.
This is a very clean and innocent movie and so it's safe for kids and a good family movie.
Overall though, this looks and feels like a "made for TV" flick and it hurt to pay $11 to see it...I would not be so kind if I'd paid to see It in 3D.

    Good kids movie

I took my nine year old yesterday and she liked it very much, The theater was filled with kids and parents who seemed to enjoy it as well. There was plenty of comic relief and I found myself laughing right along with the kids. The movie isn't complicated, it's just good fun and meant for a light hearted afternoon with the family.
