For those on the West Coast ~ I don't think the experience was like our East Coast friends.
When we arrived at the theater, the concert was on and Josh was up on the big screen, but there was no sound. Without the audio, the moment was lost.
The AMC theater in Ontario, California tried to get the sound up and going, but it just wasn't meant to be.
The staff was kind enough to refund our ticket price ~ most of it ~ but the 4 girls were disappointed.
maybe next time

Josh seemed so at ease and his voice was magnificent. The only part we could have done without, were the silly questions. They were a waste of time. We were all thrilled to be a part of such a special evening.

If Josh does this again, you've got to go. I've seem him live in concert twice, and it's almost like being there. The advantage - you can see him UP CLOSE. The disadvantage - there's a level of excitement and engagement that can't be achieved watching by remote. But it was great. He's very personable and funny, and there's just nothing else like that voice anywhere in the whole wide world.

New music was sung in his typically passionately perfect, makes-me-hold-my-breath fashion. His old songs, however, seemed to bore him, and were sung without emotion, dynamics or even pitch control. That was a shocker.
LOVED the "band"! Exquisite! Chorus was phenomenal, and perfectly balanced -- a pleasant surprise outside of a studio.
Answering txted questions between answers was kind of fun, kind of goofy -- def for the young fan base. Show was completely clean, appropriate for any age loving beautiful music.
Hoffman Theatre blew it and we missed the first 40 minutes. After a brief argument, they did, however, offer to refund our money or give us free passes.

I saw the live broadcast in February, but this version was better for several reasons. The sound balance gave Josh's voice more prominence. In February the instruments were too loud. The added material about the making of All That Echoes was fascinating. It all seems so easy when I listen to a cd, but now I understand how much effort and fine tuning goes into making a fantastic cd. Seeing Josh on the big screen was a wonderful experience. His voice is maturing, and he's taking a few risks with range. It makes for a thrilling experience for his audience. I will definitely buy the dvd when it's available.
