To fully savor Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience, it's best to watch with an audience overwhelmingly populated by girls and young women. Read full review

The threat may be as illusory as the thrills in Jonas Brothers are contrived. But that won't stop Jonas junkies from enjoying their magical mystery tour. Read full review

Certainly their musicianship and onstage professionalism are smooth, though maybe a bit too smooth. There is little spontaneity in anything they do. Read full review

Director Bruce Hendricks makes little use of the 3D technology, though the gimmick does distract from the fact that we learn nothing new about the guys. It would have been interesting to hear something of their history, especially given their much-discussed Evangelical background. Read full review

It's no mystery that the target audience for this G-rated bubblegum fantasy is tweens, parents of tweens and the occasional pervert. They'll be so pleased. Anything for the rest of humanity? Not so much. Read full review

Isn't a movie so much as a devotional object, a kind of secular fetish designed to induce rapture. Read full review

The 3D effects are of a gimmicky 1956 vintage, with hands thrusting from the screen to give the illusion of reaching out and touching the audience. Read full review

At 76 minutes, the film is nearly twice as long as even the band's most dedicated admirers might need, with weariness setting in around the 40-minute mark. Read full review

Its swooping 3-D visuals let fans briefly feel they can touch a group that barely exists behind a wall of beefy security men. Read full review

They are all part of a great American tradition. Hate them if you want to, but you might as well hate gated communities, "The Real World," and the war on terror while you're at it. Read full review

Information for Parents
Common Sense Media says OK for kids 7+ Young Jonas fans will adore the Brothers' concert flick.
What Parents Need to Know Parents need to know that this 3D concert is G-rated. There's nothing inappropriate to keep away the hordes of adoring primary-school fans, who along with their tween and teen counterparts, will want to see their beloved Kevin, Joe, and Nick burn up on screen. Like Disney's other chosen acts, the Jonases are incredibly clean-cut. They obviously don't drink, swear, or do much more than occasionally, in the case of Joe, flirt with a pretty fan or two. When they're not on stage, they're shown attending promotional events around New York.
  • Families can talk about the Jonas Brothers' popularity. What makes the Brothers the latest Disney-anointed phenomenon?
  • How do they compare to Hannah Montana?
  • Why is their music so appealing to younger kids?
  • Does the concert movie give a real look at the Brothers off stage?
  • What else would you have liked to see about Kevin, Joe, and Nick?
The good stuff
  • message true3 Positive messages: The brothers seem very close, and they're a wholesome, family-friendly trio.
What to watch for
  • violence false0 Violence and scariness: No violence except for the hordes of girls who follow the brothers everywhere.
  • sex false1 Sexy stuff: Screaming, crying girls swoon over the three Jonas Brothers, and in one quick scene, the audience catches a glimpse of a shirtless Joe and Kevin starting to change backstage.
  • language false1 Language: "Oh my God" is as strong as it gets.
  • consumerism false3 Consumerism: The Jonas Brothers themselves are the "product" on display throughout the film -- and it serves as a powerful promotional tool for the unbelievably popular act.
  • drugsalcoholtobacco false0 Drinking, drugs and smoking: Not an issue
