Jack the Giant Slayer is indeed an adventure, but it could have been so much better. The plot of film falls under familiar pretenses such as the reluctant lead who discovers his true potential by the end of the film. Very cliched but it does work for the film. The characters could have been stronger, but the performances were entertaining. There is a big world to this movie, but it is not really explored. When it comes down to it, Jack the Giant Slayer knows exactly what it is: a popcorn film. Thankfully it never talks down to the audience as this is kind of movie you can just enjoy. However, given the film's concept, you think there would be a bigger adventure behind it. Oh well, it is still an enjoyable movie.

This movie was very entertaining! My husband and I enjoyed it very much. It's nice to see a movie where there was no profanity, no gore and entertaining at the same time.
For anyone who has an interest in ancient stories of giants, such as the Nephilim spoken of in Genesis 6, the giants in the book of Enoch, I highly recommend this movie.
This movie should have done much better in the theaters, IMO.

This movie wasn't too bad; I did like it as it had lots of action and adventure, especially since it came from a fairytale (Jack and the Beanstalk). The giants were also pretty gruesome and gross looking. The movie ended as a fairytale would end; Jack and the princess got married, had two children, and lived happily ever after. All in all, it was a good movie and I would recommend it for family viewing.

I thought it may be a bit munch for my 6 year old boy but he loved it. The giants biting off peoples heads I could have done without but overall it was a good movie...it was a cool twist on a fairy tale.
