I liked this movie. It was action packed and the FX were "Fee, Fi, Fannntastic. Although, the process in which they make 3D movies have certainly changed from that of the 60's and up. The former 3D movies used to come right at you. Now you have to squint your eyes and such. Most of the movies are really just 2D and have very little 3D action.
This movie, although it is very action packed, failed in the 3D department. Most of the movie was 2D only. They should have stuck to that formula. All in all it is a good "Little Diddy", also loved Billy Nighy and Ewan McGregor, they are remarkable actors. The storyline had a measure of storybook plausability. Come on what do you want, it"s a children's fairy tale after all. My family and I loved it, I intend on buying the blue ray when it comes out.

movie was fun and entertaining, certainly no major thought processes involved. The 3D process made it a wonderful viewing 2 hours and the action was great when it started to happen though slow in arriving. Good fun which keeps you interested. Sound in movie was incredibly loud.
Though the story line is weak since it is from a children's story, the 3D process keeps you excited and paying attention. I was not impressed with the main actor playing Jack.

Good story and lots of adventure! 3D effects were above average and add to the story! I'm not sure that I would take kids under the age of 7 or 8 because (semi-spoiler-alert) there are a lot of characters that get eaten by the giants; could be unsettling for some kids.

In this age of appealing to the lowest common denominator (which admittedly this movie does with the whole "giant chef" scene), its refreshing to see an old fashioned fairytale yarn. The actors turn in fine performances (Stanley Tucci's scenery-chewing villain is repulsively delightful). It's also a family friendly romp, although some of the scenes get a little scary for younger children. The story does also toe the edge of running too long, but why carp? It's fun. Take a break from the Hollywood pop culture sludge machine and buy some magic beans.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was like Jack and the Bean-stock on steroids. My 8 and 10 year old kids liked it also. It was not too scary for them. Very well done. Special effects and voice overs are good.
