for me because I forgot Ewan was in it and I think Jack is the About A Boy boy? I laughed, clapped, cheered, cried; it was a lot of fun!

At least the popcorn was ok. The movie - expensive, yet poorly produced CG around. Costumes - looked like the kids at the K1-12 produced them, the actors - must have been the parents of the costume production kids.
Wait for it on Netflix - the Saturday evening I went - the theatre was empty. It won't live long on the big screen - thankfully.

Although probably intense for younger viewers, this movie is a blast for big kids. The art, acting, humor, and sense of grandeur all make for great big-screen viewing. The 3D is well-done and completes the experience. Catch this in a theater while you still can.

The plot and characters were certainly a bit formulaic, but it was much better than I expected. There was some funny dialogue without being campy. The "love story" developed rather naturally. And the action was really good. It all came to a rather quick and tidy resolution, but it was a fun ride all the way to the finish.

My husband enjoyed the movie. I thought the leading lady was way too old for the hero and no chemistry. The 3D special effects weren't anything special. I also thought it wasn't appropriate for children. The two headed giant seemed rather distasteful. Yuck.
Does Hollywood test drive any of these movies? There are lots of books out there with great plots. Surely, something better has to come along to the theaters.
