Jack the Giant Slayer

My daughter loved it, although she hid her face a few times during a few somewhat gorey scenes. Its full of action for sure! Kids 10 and over are a GO any younger and it might be too much violence. I thought it was an ok flick. The previews do it justice so if they look interesting to you, then you will like it. If not,... don't bother.

The 3D effects could have been much better. The movie itself was pretty good. The plot was good and the comedy in the movie was good but I think there should have been more. Definitely worth seeing.

Better than expected

At first I thought this was going to end at a certain point and become two movies, but it was very well done. I enjoyed it more than I expected.

Visuals a big jumpy - just as good in 2D?

I enjoyed the romance, the humor, and the gorgeous scenery. Story was fun but not gripping. My sixteen-year old niece thought it was wonderful and wants to get the DVD when it comes out. I fell asleep and missed one of the best scenes where a giant picked his nose, pigs in blankets were for supper, and one of the heroes escaped being baked in a pie... I found the CG very jumpy and had a little trouble understanding the giants' gravelly voices. Also had a little trouble understanding why all the giants were men - how do they reproduce??? Ewan McGregor was eye-candy although his posh accent seemed incongruous! I think this movie would be just as enjoyable in 2D.

for me because I forgot Ewan was in it and I think Jack is the About A Boy boy? I laughed, clapped, cheered, cried; it was a lot of fun!
