Super back story of Jack Ryan & his early days at CIA, looking forward to several years of squeals, Chris Pine can do Capt. Kirk in Odd # years & Jack Ryan in even # years.

Certainly okay. Won't win any awards but not a total waste of money. Nobody did a bad job, kind of liked Costner in his supporting role. While I've liked the predecessors, the actor playing Jack Ryan was fine in the role.

I have been a fan of this character since I read the first book. I have liked most of the movies based on the character. This movie is no different. I am hoping that Chris Pine sticks around as Jack Ryan for a little while. I still prefer him as Capt. Kirk, but him as Jack Ryan is good as well. I can't wait to see what they can do next with this series. Great action scenes, and good acting. Definitely will be seeing what comes next.

I'm not a fan or neither Chris Pine or Kiera Knightley but this movie went a long way in changing my opinion of them. The movie is a must see if you like that spy thriller genre.. It was an action filled engrossing viewing.

a predictable Jack Ryan plot

A mildly entertaining thriller, but no surprises, character development, or especially gut-wrenching scenes. Well paced and good technical production and special effects. the basic plot is tired and predictable -- the Russians are out to take down our economy, now with high-tech money transfers on top of a terrorist strike on Wall Street. Kenneth Brannagh isn't a good Russian. Costner plays the senior Agency guy well.
