Biography

After a decades' worth of experience in British television, director Jack Gold made his feature-film debut with the critically acclaimed The Bofors Gun (1968). Gold's later films have been a curious lot, none curiouser than the revisionist Robinson Crusoe flick Man Friday (1976). Occasionally returning to TV, Gold has directed such praiseworthy efforts as Catholics (1973), The Naked Civil Servant...
