    Great Movie

If you are 17 and looking for 'The Hangover 2' you won't like this movie, and probably think that it is boring (as I have read here), but this really is a touching story and pretty solid in the humor department as well. The other reviewers are correct that the subject matter is serious and should not be taken lightly, but if the appreciation is there for the subject, then the lighthartedness of the movie is really what makes it entertaining and easy to watch. I really liked the music selection. I thought that Zach Galifianakas did a great job, and it was nice to see him in this role where some serious subjects were discussed and he had to put on a more serious face at times. The high schoolers in this movie did good job of representing the confused age that they were tasked with playing. Overall, I really did enjoy this movie and is the best movie that takes place almost entirely in the psychward of a hospital I have seen in quite some time.

    Take the teens

It's Kind of a Funny Story-is not a movie for everyone. Some viewers need an adrenalin rush of some blood and guts in the first 15 minutes spliced with CGI or the movie is not worth their time. Those people skip this one. This movie takes its time to simmer its characters, building personalities along the way. It allows acting to be the main thrust of the movie, go figure. I loved the central characters and how the script writer chose to reveal something about each little by little. You follow the goings on of a teenager for a week that sort of wants to commit suicide and checks himself into a psyche ward, thinking he can check himself out when he wants to. When he is unable to check himself out, we are treated to how he copes with the situation and what life?s lessons he learns along the way. With teenage suicide rates up, this may be a great movie vehicle for parents to approach the subject with their kids.

A Unique, Relatable, and all around great movie

This really was a lot better than I expected. Many people, teenager or older, girl or guy, smart or dumb, may be able to relate to it. I can guarantee at least some people who have gone through periods of depression before or are going through one now will feel like this movie is almost reading their mind. And not only that, but it takes social situations that have happened to many of us and puts them on the big screen for the first time. You also may find this will answer - or at least help out with answering - a couple common questions everyone asks at some point about life and emotion. I highly recommend this movie.
