Actress/singer Irene Manning (born Inez Harvout in Cincinnati) started out performing in operettas. Originally billing herself as Hope Manning, she played romantic leads in a number of Gene Autry Westerns. Later she changed the name to Irene and began playing leads in Warner Bros. films during the '40s.
