    Loved This Movie

I've been waiting for about three or four months to see In The Land Of Women and tonight my wife and I finally got the chnace to do just that and I was very impressed with the way this movie turned out....The cast did a great job and the storyline was very well done too......When I saw the previews I had originally had thought it would be about how this guy goes to take care of his grandmother and then meets his next door neighbors daughter and falls in love with her but I was totally shocked to see that it wasn't that at all....It was a good story about one mans relationship with two women and how it helped him deal with the break up of a woman he just lost.....It was a truly beautiful movie and I'm glad I got the chance to see it..Go see it if you get the chance

    Not What I Expected

I went thinking it was going to be a shallow teen movie, but was pleasantly surprised to find a pretty deep coming of age story. I enjoyed it.

    Adam Brody kows how...

Adam Brody knows how to make his character real and therefore, we believe in his role as Carter Webb. Brody is very nuanced performance in "in The Land of Women"; the women in his life while visiting his grandmother (Olympia Dukakis) give first rate performances, too. It is refreshing to see a film where you can't predict what is going to happen next and the characrers behave in ways that are how we really behave in our life situations.

    I really liked it!

The moral of the story was good! It's a great comedy, and romantic drama movie. It had great actors, and I enjoyed pretty much every part of the movie. A lot of people didnt understand the end or something? I understood... You have to think about it, sure, but once you do it's pretty clear. Cant wait to get it on DVD!

    multi-faceted movie

We loved this movie. It had something for everyone. Not a mindless chick-flick, but raised numerous issues, mother-daughter, fidelity, maturity, the meaning of love, etc. If you take the time to look at the issues/questions raised, you find there is a lot of food for thought and discussion. A great movie for mothers and daughters to see together to open many areas of communication. On top of all that, it is a highly entertaining movie with above average acting by the entire cast. Hilarious too.

Land of Women is a must see!

This movie has real moral. I went to see it with my mother, and we laughed and even shed a few tears throughout the movie. I loved it! Adam Brody, Meg Ryan, and Kristen Stewart did a wonderful job! GO SEE IT!

    In The Land Of Women

My daughter and I went to see this movie and yes I really truly enjoyed it. She did too! I cried and my daughter's eyes well up (she said she didn't cry because the tears didn't actually fall). We laughed and I cried. The acting was really good. The youngest daughter is a hoot. We totally related to this movie because we have lived and are living with some of the issues that were portrayed. My daughter even asked me during the movie if I wrote it...now that was funny! I suggest you grab a friend or a daughter and go see it.

In The Land Of Women is a rare film in present times. It is an intelligent, thoughtful movie with surprising depth and substance. The refreshing portrayal of the common bonds we have through human experience will make you want to visit In The Land of Women .

    I liked it

I'm a sucker for romantic comedies. While this isn't really a romantic comedy, it definitely had it's funny moments. While the ending felt a little off to me, it was authentic, and the story that proceeded it was a fun ride. Perhaps a little typical in some of the drama, but at least the film managed to avoid making it's material feel overly stale. That makes it sound like I didn't like it, but I did. Over all, for those who like emotional, generally uplifting, chick flicks with some humor...you'll probably like this one.

    False Advertising

    by sgt4328

The movie was not bad- Adam Brody is irresistible in it. However, they advertised it as a love story between Carter and Lucy, and that is just not what the movie is about. Look out for Meg Ryan as she steals the scene. If you go in knowing what the movie is truly about, then it should be good.

Good female movie. Most guys probably won't enjoy it.

Don't want to call this a chick flick.....however, there are no car chases, guns, big fights (although a couple of punches are thrown in one small segment), murders, karate, war or any of the usual guy things that MUST be included in a movie in order for my husband to go watch it. Good news is......my husband didn't go, so I didn't have to listen to him complain how boring this movie was for him. Luckily, I was left to enjoy it. Especially the acting. There were some unbelievably talented cast members here. I was captivated by the older daughter Lucy (played by Kristen Stewart) and can't say I've ever seen her in anything before. After this, I'll bet I see her in a lot of things. She was terrific and dominated every scene she was in. I also liked that the movie didn't go the route I predicted it would. That was a nice twist. Meg Ryan, Adam Brody and Olympia Dukakis were great. I loved the location photography and set design. Oh so appropriate. It drug me in and kept me.

    Disappointing

I went to this film based on my love of Meg Ryan, and the promos that characterized this as a romantic comedy. I found the ending unsatisfying and felt there were too many unanswered questions... and this is not a film that begs a sequel to answer the questions.

    Beautiful and Inspired

Imagine "American Beauty" meets "The Last Kiss." Adam Brody could not have been a better choice for the part I was not expecting him to play. Consistent in his quick-witted charm, his character, "Carter," is a soft-porn writer who finds himself, at 26, searching for a life in the midst of his life. At 25, I can empathize with incredible emotion. His character is not flawed or lost, but rather devoid of true affection, and thereby finds himself in the heart of L.A.'s porn industry, fighting his way out toward some sign of normalcy.

Meg Ryan, entrancing as ever, gave the film its beautiful misery; the type we are all faced with and choose not to acknowledge. As her condition worsens, Brody's seemingly improves. This movie is not predictable by any means, but nonetheless, it yields an astounding "A" from this critic.

Perhaps you may find your condition, whatever that may be, is not so different from those portrayed in this incredibly artistic display of life, love, and loss.
