When America enters World War I, New Yorker Bill Durham (George Walsh) tries to enlist, but is rejected for having flat feet. He then gets in a fight with a street corner pacifist and through this meets Barbara Knowles (Regina Quinn). Barbara's guardian, it turns out, is a German spy, who travels down to the border to stir up some trouble between the U.S. and some Mexican revolutionaries. Walsh follows him and the innocent Barbara and puts a halt to his plan, but Barbara has already been taken back to New York, where her guardian plans to marry her off to another German. Walsh lands at the church in the nick of time to replace the German as the bridegroom. Although this comedy gave Walsh his usual chance to show off his athleticism, the German spy/World War I subject matter was way overworked.
