Ice Age from sneak preview
Creators bring a new interesting story, completely different from previous stories. Entertained my 9 and 39 year old. Few shady innuendos even though it addressed depression, loneliness, pregnancy and birth, as well as dating and setting up house. Positive themes included the father consistently planning for and going to great lengths to take care of his family - immediate and extended. Eat your vegtables, but not many more moral lessons made.
Negative was that the pregnant mom put herself at risk and continually overran her husband and made risky decisions for her family. I never noticed how domineering this character had been in past movies. It does raise some laughs, but put a lop-sided take to marriages for the kids in the audience.
The squirrel took a back seat on the laugh-o-meter to the new underground character introduced. So funny was this tour guide! I only wish he had more lines or ended the movie differently so we could expect to see more of him.
