I think if you have seen all the other ice age movies, you definately have to see this one too. Not one of my favorites but it did have some funny moments. I am really in between so-so and go....the 6 -7 year old party kids liked it, one girl and four boys. : )

while i thought the movie was merely "OK", my daughter (as well as the other kids in attendance) loved it. i will say this, 'tho: the 3D effects are remarkable & might be enough of a reason alone to check it out.....

Ice Age:Continental Drift

My six-year-old grandson and two-year-old granddaughter were totally invested in the story and characters, She exited the theatre saying, in a much-too-loud voice, "I loved Holy Crap!!!" I do believe they said, "Holy CraB," but who can argue with a two-year-old who KNOWS what she heard?! The six-year-old, who loves to read the credits, said, "Can you believe that JENNIFER LOPEZ did the voice of Shira??" Frankly, I almost dozed a couple of times. I do have a complaint about the theatre where we saw the film, UA Court Street, Stadium 12 on Court Street in Brooklyn: they turn the sound up so loud that it not only interferes with the enjoyment of their films but I fear it will damage the hearing of the young kids who attend their films. If enough people complain perhaps they'll turn it down permanently!

The Kids Will Like It But Adults May Find It A Little Redundant.

Grownups will get the "been there, done that" feeling watching this film, as it really brings little new material to this franchise. That's a good thing in terms of humor, since this installment remains about as funny as the others. The downside is the story is way too shallow and contrived to satisfy more mature children or adults. Plus, a big rule in storytelling is where there is conflict, there should be resolution, actual or suggested. In other words, there are just too many, "wonder what that was about" moments to give this play a thumbs up. Still, its familiar characters and voices, along with "child" humor will more than please the little guys. The somewhat older kids will accept it as well, just not like the other installments. Altogether, it's worth seeing. You won't be disappointed.

the bar is very high for ice age, and while this movie may not have been quite as good as the others, it is still delightful and worth seeing
