    Outbreak + 28 days later = I Am Legend

If you're into movies about outbreaks and chaos you will love this one. It has some similarity from 28 Days Later, but with more intelligent infected people, less gorish, and very scary.

Will Smith continues to show his talent with this movie. He portrays very well how a person who has lost interaction with fellow humans could behave.

Things that I didn't like much:

    - I wish that the movie was longer.
    - I wish it didn't take place in NY. Movies should use other places, NY is played out!

Nevertheless, I loved it and will add to my collection.

    Great Movie, Smith Does Good

I was originally upset when I heard Smith would be leading this film. After awhile I accepted when I read that he was taken the role seriously and it was not going to be a laughfest. Being a huge OM fan I went into the movie excpecting scenes that were in Omega Man to come that never did. Sure there are some similarities but do go into it expecting to see a verbatim remake of Omega Man. The euthanasia killing of his beloved and beautiful German Shepard Sam is the hardest part of the movie to sit and try to take in...it is extremely sad. Neville loses it after that and has no longer a will to live since that was the last thing connecting him to his past.

The pace of the movie was very good up until the ending which sort of "raced" along but it did not detract from me giving it a "thumbs way up".

Go see the movie, it is fantastic!

    That's a lot of Will-Power...

Snuck out of work to see I Am Legend and for the most part it didn't disappoint. Will Smith definitely carried the movie a la Tom Hanks in CastAway, and just like in CastAway, the movie lost some momentum the moment other people were added. CGI effects were decent and used well for the most part, though you do know it's CGI you're looking at so the terror factor is reduced. Will, however, does a phenomenal job of expressing the angst and pain of being the last human and trying to save his species, as well as the guilt of his involvement. Go see it...

    Chilling, but don't forget your Anti-depressants !!!

I am a Will Smith fan, he's great, Awesome, INCREDIBLE, blah, blah, blah. Trust me, this will not be any ORDINARY review! If you want shock after shock, go get TAZED by the police or bathe in sugar water and smack the hell out of a bee hive, don't spend 11 dollars to see this depressing flick. It is full of great sound and imaging designed to scare the heck out of you. Sound guys get an A+! But the acting, is just good, not like I would expect from an Oscar contender. It's GREAT "B" Movie acting, sorry Will. It's a ZOMBIE flick... with a budget... nothing more. George A. Romero, (DAWN OF THE DEAD), would have used 50 college students in bad make-up to play the "UNDEAD", where Will gets super talented CGI artists to CREATE the rabid, pigmentally challenged, INFECTED. Without giving away the ending, (that's not fair to do even if you don't like the flick, right?), the story is ultra depressing and sorta pointless. Thrills, yes. Substance, NO. Wait for the DVD.

    I am Legend was great!

    by stamid

I really enjoyed the movie and the special effects were great. I think there could have been more details in the story and explanation of the characters' behaviors, but all in all it was an excellent film and I will reccomend it to my friends and family.

I AM TELLING YOU TO SEE THIS MOVIE

While not as good as the book or even the graphic novel(but when are they ever)this movie showcases why Will Smith is one of the best actors this generation. The story is solid, the acting is amazing, but the CGI is horrible.I really wish this movie was CGI free like 28 weeks later,i feel that if they used actually people then the movie would have been even more real. However dont let the CGI stop you from seeing this movie. The run away scene stealer is Sam,the dog,she is everything you could want in a pet if you were the last person on earth. There are two tear jerker scenes and they are back to back which make them more powerful and the ending is solid enough.I would see this movie again just for the dog.

    intense!

    by ANH

Forget what RT and any other aggregate site is saying, this movie was one of the best I've seen all years. Will Smith puts on an incredible performance, and his situation and rapidly deteriorating mental state just draw you right into the movie.

If you're looking for an amazing thriiller, just go see this now.

    Great Show

Great movie, awesome acting. Yeah, I was scared at times but also spent some time questioning how the zombies can scale buildings and rip through ceilings. Seemed a bit too futuristic at times but heck, awesome movie overall. Would love to see a I am Legend 2, totally believable but who would play The Fresh Prince's Part- Jazzy Jeff.

    if i had to choose

    by aes87

...somebody to be the last man on earth---for a movie---it would be will smith.

kudos mr smith! acting skills are increasing with age and experience :)

i think he's one of the few actors who can star in a movie by himself and keep me interested...for the first half of them film.

everything after that kind of goes down hill. i don't think it's necessarily smith's fault or production's BUT i think it's all the zombie action people are kind of over.

oh and don't go see this one with jumpy people...i made that mistake!

    Great Movie

Me and my girlfriend went to see this and we both agreed it was a great movie, it was ALOT more intense then i planned it to be and since my girlfriend is pretty jumpy about this type of stuff, it made the movie better in my position.. as for storyline and stuff, it was greatly written i love the zombie/mutant films like dawn of the dead, 28 weeks later, as cheesy as they are, nothing makes a movie better then alota blood thirsty cannibals lol I've been a big fan of will since fresh prince, and men in black, he's an awsome actor and can play a seriouse, emotional, and comedian all in the same movie and thats what it takes... go see it, wait till it comes on film whatever, just see it, it's worth it, It's Sad, INTENSE, and some parts are funny, you'll be on the edge of your seat, may even tear up, but it was a great movie

Don't listen to your friends, judge this one for yourself !!!

    by T HIGHT

I had about 4 - 5 friends from work who had saw I Am Legend before me. Three of them automatically labeled this movie a " Tom Hanks-Castaway type" movie. The others said it was "alright". So of course i was gonna take their words for it, until this female friend of mine called and wanted to go see this movie a second time. A second time? I didn't ask questions, cause i just wanted to hang out anyway. So i used Fandango and booked us for 2 tickets on the IMAX sceen. I now know that you can never go wrong with action and sudden creature lunges on that screen! I refuse to give away any of the movie, but the man and dog scenes are to establish character and show you how much you overlook how important human to human contact really is. Could you go forever with nobody to talk to?.............yeah, me either. Go see this movie quick(preferably IMAX), and write one of these so i can see your point of view. Have fun and be careful. T. HIGHT

Mother and not a scary movie lover...hid my face 60% of this movie.

This movie kept me awake for hours after we saw it last night! I saw another movie like this in the 70's that wasn't nearly as scary, but thought they did a great job at building his character, and Sam's. If you like scary movie's, then you'll probably like this, however, no one was smiling when they left the movie theatre last night. This is NOT a feel-good movie. It's suspenseful, and jumps in all the right places. Even though I am not a fan of this movie, I still thought Will Smith did a great job, and will still look for his movies in the future. I won't be recommending this one to my friends. :(
